Ethical Community

Advancement of science and technology and the commercialization associated with it, has spread consumeristic values among the masses, smothering cultural diversity and consequently resulting in erosion of traditional values, which has gradually but profoundly, changed our relations with nature, other life forms and more importantly among ourselves, from symbiotic co-existence to predatory.

Growing conflicts of varying nature and scale, leading to intolerance, declining moral values, climate change etc. are a testimony to these changes, risking our social security and severely constraining our future development-as individuals and as communities.
Assam is not oblivion to the changes and the resultant stress arising out of exploitative and consumerist value systems.
To develop resilience to these changes, it becomes imperative that individuals and communities, exercise restraint and ecological prudence, for which they need to refer to their indigenous knowledge system, handed down over ages through oral tradition as well as through various sacred rituals, cultural practice and beliefs, which outlines the time tested principles of peaceful co-existence and mutual development.

At OREKA, we’re on a mission to facilitate Ethical Communities- to give to ourselves and to future generations an opportunity to enjoy their lives in peace and harmony.
